How it works:
All first claim members will be able to participate (please let us know if you would like to opt out).
Divisions will be created for both males and females: these will be decided through the age grading from parkrun - make sure your parkrun profile has your club set to Marple Runners.
If you haven’t completed a parkrun, then you will be placed into the appropriate division based on your best race results over other distances.
If that applies to you, send your best 2-3 race times and I'll work it out.
If you have neither raced nor done a parkrun, you'll get placed into a division based on your results when you've completed a race from our list.
We have put together a full race calendar with a variety of distances and styles; so there will be something for everyone.
Whilst we hope to see you at lots of races, you don't need to do them all.
Points are available at each race but it will only be your best 8 results that count towards the championship.
There will be six divisions, three each for ladies and gents and points will be scored based on your age-graded results; to make it fairer on our more vintage members.
Prizes will be available in all six divisions.
Male members with an age grading over 59% will enter Div 1
Male members with an age grading over 52% will enter Div 2
Male members with an age grading Under 52% will enter Div 3
Female members with an age grading over 57% will enter Div 1
Female members with an age grading over 52% will enter Div 2
Female members with an age grading Under 52% will enter Div 3
If 2 members finish on level points the winner will be the 1 with the highest age grading over there 8 highest point scores or decreasing if only 7 events and so on.
There will be promotion and relegation through the divisions. You will not be relegated if you have not entered three championship events or more. Only the 3 lowest scoring will be relegated.
The organiser may adjust the divisional allocation based on known historic performance, early season performance or for any other reason.
Results will be based on chip time where available, otherwise gun time will be used.
For each race, each member’s result will be converted into an age graded percentage based on the member’s age on 1st January each year. All members within a division will be ranked by age grade and points will be allocated, with 1st place scoring 50 points, 2nd place getting 49 and so on.
Only first claim runners on the date of each race who have entered as a Marple Runner will be eligible to score points. Where a race does not publish club names in results we’ll comb through to find members but for parkrun members must have set Marple Runners as their club on their profile.
For race series as identified (*) in the Club Diary the fastest time will be used.
Results will be published including interim results from each race series so points may go down as well as up. Race list may be amended
