Cross Country Season 2026/27

The Manchester Area Cross Country League (MACCL) season is planned to start on Saturday, 10th October 2026. A whole £8 gets 4 races (or as many as you want to do) plus the option to enter Match 3 (British Cross Challenge).  Don't worry about being fast, we are all about having a laugh and eat a lot of cake!  

The provisional race calendar and start times are listed below: -

Race Dates:

• Match 1: Saturday 10th October 2026: Woodbank Park (Stockport Harriers & AC)

• Match 2: Saturday 14th November 2026: Sherdley Park (St Helens Sutton)

• Match 3: Saturday 28th November 2026: Sefton Park - British Cross Challenge

• Match 4: Saturday 16th January 2027: Tatton Park (Running Bear RC & Sale Harriers)

• Match 5: Saturday 13th February 2027: Heaton Park (Manchester Harriers & AC) 

Fees:

The 2026/27 fee per runner will be £8 for the season (Matches 1,2,4,5).  

Runners must be entered into the MACCL series by Friday, 2nd October 2026 to be eligible to enter Match 3 at Sefton Park. No late entries will be permitted. Entries for Sefton Park (Match 3) will cost an additonal £3 per runner. 

All entries will this year will be arranged as a Club via the Team Manager, Elise E or Mel C, so contact them for details and join the XC WhatsApp Group.

Non-Competitive Members only: Individual online race entries will be available via https://www.race-results.co.uk when this opens. (Match 1,2,4,5 only)

 Race times:

• 12 noon U12 GIRLS & U12 BOYS* - Max 3,000 metres

• 12:15 pm U13 GIRLS & U13 BOYS - Max 4,000 metres

• 12.30 pm U16 GIRLS & U16 BOYS – Max 5,000 metres

• 12:50 pm U18 GIRLS & U18 BOYS – Max 6,500 metres

• 1:30 pm SENIOR, U20 & VET LADIES – Max 8,000 metres

• 2:30 pm SENIOR, U20 & VET MEN - Max 10,000 metres
